Skateboard Jersey (hereafter referred to as “We” or “SJ”) is a non-profit organisation made up of riders and volunteers participating in skateboarding in Jersey. We care about how your personal information is used and shared, and we take your privacy seriously. We regularly check our databases to make sure that information that has been supplied to us is up to date and as accurate as possible.

This Privacy Policy covers our handling of information that we gather when you are accessing or using our website or membership services or when you contact us in any manner. We gather various types of information, including information that identifies you as an individual (“Personal Information”) detailed below.

When you use the website: We may collect any Personal Information that you choose to send to us or provide to us, for example, the contact us form, registration, email sign up form. If you contact us digitally, we will keep a record of your Personal Information and our correspondence.
When you become a member: We receive and store information you provide directly to us. The types of information we may collect directly from you may include: names, email addresses, postal addresses, phone numbers, transactional information as well as any other information you choose to provide us.

Information We Automatically Collect:
When you visit the Website, we collect certain information related to your device, such as your device’s IP address, referring website, what pages your device visited, and the time that your device visited our Websites.

How do we use the information?

Website: We will use the information we collect via our Website:
• To administer our Website, our events and for internal operations, including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, statistical and survey purposes;
• To improve our Website to ensure that content is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer;
• Analyse use of the Website for trend monitoring, marketing and advertising purposes;
• For purposes made clear to you at the time you submit your information – for example, to fulfill your request to be contacted or to provide you with information you have requested about our membership; and

Members: We may use the information we collect from our members for a range of reasons, including to:
• Provide, operate, maintain and develop the association and relationships;
• Manage our members’ use of the association, respond to enquiries and comments and support;
• Send members technical alerts, updates, security notifications, regulatory communications and invitations;
• Collect emergency contact details for our members in the event of injury during an event organised by JWFC

We may also use the information you send to us via the Websites or Social media to communicate with you via email and, possibly, other means, regarding events and membership information we think may be of interest to you or to send you our newsletter, if this is in accordance with your marketing preferences. However, you will always be able to opt-out of such communications at any time.

How do we share and disclose information to third parties?

We do not rent or sell your Personal Information to anyone. We may share and disclose information (including Personal Information) about our members with third party suppliers, consultants and other service providers who we employ to perform tasks on our behalf. These companies may include (for example) website analytics companies (e.g. Google Analytics), email service providers (e.g. Mailchimp), Partners (e.g. SkateboardGB).

How long do we retain your information for?

We regularly check our databases to make sure that information that has been supplied to us is up to date and as accurate as possible.
If you have been a member at any time, we will retain your information for as long as we have an on-going relationship and thereafter for as long as we are required by law to retain the information, which is generally ten years post the end of the relationship. Thereafter the information will be destroyed without further notice.

Cookies and other tracking technologies

Our Website uses cookies (small text files containing a string of alphanumeric characters that we put on your computer) and other similar tracking technologies (like tags and scripts) to uniquely identify your browser and to gather information about how you interact with the Website. We use Anonymous Analytics Cookies whenever a visitor arrives at our website, a program records an anonymous analytics cookie which can tell if the visitor has arrived at the website previously. Your web browser will tell you if you have these cookies. If not, we will generate new ones.

These cookies are only used to records statistical information such as page visits, or time spent on a page.

We may utilise Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google, to better understand your use of our Websites. We use Third Party Advertising Cookies – Some organisations use anonymous cookies to see how many people have viewed an advert once or more than once on a website. A company that generates these cookies will have their own privacy policies which mean we have no access to read or write the cookies that they place on our website. What choices do I have?
You can always opt not to disclose information to us, but keep in mind some information may be needed to become a member.

You can set or amend your web browser controls to accept or reject cookies. If you choose to reject cookies, you may still use our Websites and Service, however your access to some functionality and areas of our Websites may be severely restricted.
Marketing Communications
You can opt-out of receiving certain marketing communications from us at any time, by using the unsubscribe link in the emails communications we send or by contacting us at info@skateboardjersey.org with the word “UNSUBSCRIBE” in the subject field of the email. If you are an active member, we will still send you non-promotional communications, e.g. events.
How can I update and access my information?
We provide members their own login with the opportunity to access, review, update, and delete any Personal Information we hold about them. You can send an email to info@skateboardjersey.org if you would like your profile deleted. Please note that is you are an active member your profile is necessary.

If you ask us to delete your information, we will use our best efforts to promptly delete all of your Personal Information and cease any use thereof, provided that nothing in this Privacy Policy shall prevent us from using any aggregated and de-identified Personal Information that does not identify any individual. Please note that we may also retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
